Dear Diary…

So another year has passed and life has thrown a few curveballs at me in 2014. It was a very eventful year and I have no regrets. Life is an experience and you know what? I rather have an eventful experience, than a boring one πŸ™‚

It all started in January when I decided to move on. I thought I had to get out of the UK for some time. You know, when you just get fed up with things, with the people around you, with your job and you just need a break? This is how I felt. I got very depressed and I knew I had to snap out of that feeling. I decided to return to Istanbul/Turkey for a month, to train and enjoy myself. I had a great time there! My friends were welcoming and my training went very well.

The plan was to go to Dubai from Istanbul, but somehow I got derailed. A friend of mine invited me to Cairo and because I have never been to Egypt before I decided to visit. I arrived end of March and got introduced to Gold’s Gym Academy the following day. After that things just speeded up. First I was offered a freelance position at the Academy to lecture there, and then I was interviewed for a position for Gold’s Gym Egypt that I got and started 1st May. This job is great, I enjoy the company and the people I have to work with. Well, most of them. I have a great boss who helps me a lot when I need help. He doesn’t like it when I call him ‘boss’ but effectively he is πŸ™‚

I say currently my boss because things keep changing everywhere. I guess it’s the ups and downs of life.

I’m lucky enough to meet a wide range of people. I believe that everyone comes into our lives for a reason. Some people are meant to stay, others are meant to teach us something. And eventually they all make us happy: by either coming into our lives or by leaving πŸ™‚

I’ve made some friends, I have a lot of followers here in Egypt and it’s a great feeling to know that I inspire so many people.

I don’t know what the situation is with the guys here but I have a lot of attention from guys in their 20s. Apparently they like older women – and they are very persistent. If I was only looking for a toyboy just to spend my time with someone it would be probably great (Oh and that’s all about it what you can expect because of their religion lol) It’s all bonkers here πŸ™‚ so might as well just try and enjoy until I’m here. I have made some friends though: some guys from the gym, some of the trainers and the Max Muscle guys, they are a treat really! I can’t express how lovely and helpful they are!

Trying to plan my year Β in regards to competitions but I gotta admit it’s a bit scary because the quality of the food here is very poor. Last year it was a proper struggle to diet down. I’m trying to look for ‘organic’ food but I don’t think they know the concept here although they use the word. Just stay connected to see the updates!

Dear Diary, 2014 was a long and eventful year. But everything happens for a reason and I believe that I am where I am supposed to be. New Year’s resolution? I don’t believe in that. I believe if you want to start something you should not wait until new year’s, or Monday or the next day. So my only promise to myself is to treat myself better, to put myself first in EVERY situation. If you’re not careful, people abuse your friendliness and kind nature easily. There is a saying that is very true: givers need to set limits because takers rarely do. That’s my motto for 2015.
